1 Understanding DPI & Print Sizes

  1. What is DPI? DPI (Dots Per Inch) tells a physical printer how densely to space ink dots on paper.
  2. DPI vs Pixels: DPI does NOT change the number of pixels on your screen. A 3000×2000px image printed at 300 DPI will physically measure 10×6.6 inches.
  3. Formula: Print Size (Inches) = Pixels / DPI.

★ Standard Print Density Guidelines

  • 300 DPI: The universal gold standard for magazines, photo prints, flyers, and brochures.
  • 72 / 96 DPI: Standard for web browsers, social media, and computer displays.
